Our family from FL really enjoyed this hotel, the atmosphere, the spectacular views, and the wonderful hospitality the owners gave us. The rooftop view at sunset is just amazing. We arrived late in the day. They were filming a movie scene nearby and there was no parking near the hotel. We walked up to the hotel without a reservation and were met by the owner, Francisco, his wife, and their son Giovanni. They got us two rooms, helped us to navigate up the narrow street to the hotel where we could unload. Then Giovanni got on his scooter and I followed him to offsite parking near the marina. He gave me a ride on the back of his scooter to the hotel. The owners were very helpful with dining recommendations. The hotel is very old and ornate. We really enjoyed our time in Vieste and would recommend staying at this hotel, which is in the middle of the dining and shopping area.

This mediaeval palazzo at the start of the centro storico sure has gorgeous bones ... how good would it be to have an endless purse & bring her to her former glory.
Currently you get a taste of several epochs in various sections of the building. My room's most recent update ~ 1960s I'd guess.

Breakfast was plentiful & varied, ...& the view from the terrace sublime.

Beware the stairs (plenty & steep) ...Gazelle I'm not, but the narrow few extra stairs to my room were especially tricky.

Although comfy, even opening all windows & letting the Adriatic breezes through couldn't shake the squashed ants odour, ... which, I suspect, was coming from some mouldy ceiling / floorboards ... not an easy fix, but not good for one's health either

The hotel is fantastically well located with views to the sea. However, it is badly in need of investment for renovation, refurnishing and re-equipping. We had a very large room on the second floor with a beautiful vista towards the church but the bed was a king size bed with a standard double size mattress (so quite a gap between the mattress and the bed frame); the towels were grey, frayed and coarse.|Breakfast was a little disappointing.|We paid €120 per night. If it was a little cheaper I might mark it a little higher but at that price it’s definitely average.|I’d probably select Hotel Seggio if I was to go back to Vieste.

Hotel Rocca sul Mare was chosen for our early April visit to Vieste after reading other Tripadvisor reviews. We specified a sea view and were given a room with an outlook to an island with a lighthouse from our balcony. The room was relatively spacious, spotlessly clean and apparently recently redecorated. Wifi worked well in our room although it was suggested that we may have to use it in public areas.||The staff encountered were helpful although most spoke little English. Our bathroom |had a shower which was possibly the smallest I have see. The hotel has no elevator, as far as I know, also some stairs are so steep that some may find them awkward, particularly with luggage. In April, the street side of this hotel with the views was particularly quiet at night but judging from traffic noise with the window open during the day, this could be different in summer.| |We were persuaded to take half-board at €18 per person for the meal at either lunch or dinner. We saw no sign of any fresh pasta mentioned in some past reviews here. The meal turned out to be quite basic, as was the breakfast supplied in the hotel. We may have been temped to cancel the half-board arrangement except this was already charged to the credit card at time of check in.||There are restaurants close by that offer better food and value. One I would very highly recommend is Osteria al Duomo di Vincenzo Bua where the quality and value far exceed what may be found in bigger Italian cities. ||Vieste can be reached by an interesting bus ride through the Gargano National Park from Foggia. It is a beautiful town, with views of the Adriatic. To fully explore the attractions of the Gargano Peninsula a car would help.

Awesome traditional building with a beautiful sea view. The hotel is managed by a lovely family. They helped us a lot with our really special questions.

Furthermore the family has an organic olive plantation. We already had the chance to visit that place and bought a lot of delicious olive oil. It is a great gift for family and friends.

We would definitely come back.

Hotel Rocca sul Mare is not a regular hotel, this is an old monastery great renovated. Each room has an unique character and most of them great view, The place is run by great owners who are always ready to help you. After arrival we have a bottle of great wine(there is a fridge at reception:)) and we saw our room, that was a huge surprise. We have views for both sides see and main street, hiuge bed, orginal floors from 16th century and what more a huge bathroom with shower and sepatare bath I have never expact that this small hotel will be such a great place. Also thay have nice breakfasts served at the balcony and thair own restaurant. Additionally, we were impressed bya huge roof terrace where you can drink aperitiv with friends enjoying the view of the sea and the whole town!

Well located at the foot of the old town, with a magnificent view onto the sea coast from the roof terrace, nice large clean rooms with charm, good food and friendly reception. An ideal place if you want a simple, yet comfortable, reasonably priced stay. Raffaella was giving demonstrations next to the lobby every late afternoon on how to make home-made pasta (which was then cooked for dinner) and the owner's wife, Maria Teresa, who taught Italian in the public schooling system for 35 years, gave us some private Italian lessons. We had a great few days.

Felt like we were staying in the 'real' Puglia. From the paintings on the wall to the glass cabinet in the dining room containing a biblical mountain scene. From the old couple watching TV in the corner when the restaurant was quiet. From the lovely lady making home made pasta downstairs to the cheeky waitress F who knew I wanted to learn Italian so made me say everything in Italian before she would bring anything. We had lunch and dinner here and it was fantastic- particularly the spinach and ricotta ravioli which tasted even better after having seen it made an hour earlier. Breakfast was a bit limited but you didn't care as it was served on the terrace overlooking the sea with views of the lighthouse. We stayed in room 206 with a seaview. Rooms basic but comfortable - you get the sense nothing has changed for years but that added to its charm and character. I hope it doesn't change.
