This is one of the nicest hotels I stayed in while on vacation. The staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were typical Italian rooms nice, small, clean. No complaints. The restaurant was excellent and the staff were attentive and helpful. The breakfast buffet was good. The outdoor seating area and the pool area were top notch. We will definately stay here on our next trip to the area.

We had a fantastic stay at the Relais Bellaria Hotel. The premises, including the amazing surrounding areas, are stunning to start with. The staff did a great job before our arrival and during our stay, and they were very attentive to our needs, as we had a disabled person in our party. The room faced a green area, and the only sound we could hear was birds chirping. Definitely recommended.

There are good things about this hotel, notably the breakfast and front desk staff. The pool area is also ok as long as you like 80s music! The location is quiet , and buses can be caught 400 m away into the city . Taxis are available about €30 into the city ( uber tends to be more expensive!). There is a pervasive feel of mismanagement about the place. We had asked for a quiet room, but were put next to a room that was being renovated from early hours even though we had a Please Do Not Disturb sign out a metre away. There is a fridge, with drinks at reasonable minibar prices, but no glasses, just two paper cups in the bathroom! Apparently, because we booked with Booking.com we were not entitled to a kettle, when we complained that a 4 star hotel should provide this, we were provided with a kettle but no tea bags and some coffee which was good though not replaced. The shower was hanging loose. You can’t read by the bedside lights because they’re badly placed and don’t angle. I could go on with the electrics etc. The restaurant doesn’t open in the evening until 7:30 (very Italian but not good for many). We tried the restaurant, and after having wonderful meals across Tuscany, this was a huge disappointment, the fish of the day was the smallest piece of Swordfish ever seen (see picture, served with spinach which would have been lost on a 1€ coin!

Early in the season so no pool/hottub, opens June. Overall appearance, standards and room were excellent. |Hotel used extensively for commercial and business conferences during the day and occasionally evening. I didn't get the feeling it was a tourist hotel.|Remote and somewhat isolated in relation to Bologna. Well serviced by public transport and taxi. No commercial services near by, local restaurants, supermarket, etc. You had to use Taxi or bus!|All that said it was a well presented hotel and enjoyable stay.

We booked for one night before our flight home as a family of 6 in 3 rooms. First impressions was wow in reception. When checking in we was told that checkout time was 11 and I advised that we were leaving for the airport around 4 so we would be ok to pack the car and stay around the pool and was told we have to leave the hotel at 11 which is the first time ever. When we got to the rooms which were bland and basic and would rate them 2 star. The staff overall were miserable and not engaging apart from the pool attendant. The pool area had overgrown grass which had loads of ants and the hot tubs were dirty and freezing. We went for breakfast which had quite a lot of choice but all the hot cooked food was cold and dry. The waiter asked us if we wanted coffee after he saw us going to the self serve machine and tables were not cleared until you left. Paid for a great 4* hotel and got a 2* with miserable staff and poor food. Would not return so many better hotels in the Bologna Area.

We stayed in total 11 nights in August 2024. The first 5 nights were in a standard room and then we upgraded to a junior suite for the remaining 6 nights. The rooms were very nice, spacious, clean. The junior suite had a balcony which was lovely.||Staff were truly excellent. Anybody we encountered were so friendly and nice. Front desk staff were welcoming and friendly.||We had some dinners in the restaurant and they were truly exceptional. Really faultless. Breakfast was also very good, lots of choice just breakfast service was very busy but there is plenty of seating so it was ok.||The hotel is located outside the city of Bologna. You can get to the city easily by bus, the stop is about a 5 minute walk away. A car is convenient to explore the local area, we had a car for some days of our trip and even driving to the city wasn't too bad.||My only small issue was that on the 15th August holiday (a major major holiday in Italy) the pool area was absolutely packed with people who paid for day passes and it didn't matter if you were a resident guest, basically tough luck finding somewhere to sit near the pool. It was our one and only encounter with a rude staff member. ||Other than that it was overall a good experience. It was also quite reasonably priced for the offering.

Lovely hotel, clean, modern and well run. They provide a good breakfast and the dinner menu is very good with a fine selection of wines.
